Better tasting tap water should be simple to enjoy at home.
How you store filtered water, serve it, and care for your filter all become part of the everyday experience. Temperature matters. So does keeping your serving vessels clean, preparing an amount your household will use, and replacing the cartridge when it is due.
These are small habits, but together they keep filtered water at home fresh, ready when you want it, and simple to enjoy.
Better Tasting Water Starts With How You Serve It
Some people prefer water straight from the fridge. Others like it closer to room temperature. Beyond personal preference, temperature can influence how we experience the taste of water.
The World Health Organization notes that cool water is generally more palatable than warm water, and that temperature can affect the acceptability of substances that influence taste.

If you prefer a cooler glass, keep filtered water chilled until you are ready to pour. An Earths Water Glass Carafe can stay in the fridge, then come to the table when you are ready to serve it.
When filling an Earths Water filtration product, use cold or room-temperature water only. Hot or warm water should not be used for filtering.
Serving also comes down to what works in your home. You might prefer a carafe ready with dinner, a glass poured from the benchtop through the day, or chilled water waiting in the fridge. There is no need to create a separate ritual around it. Keep filtered water where it is convenient to serve, and it becomes easier to make it part of the day.
Keep Filtered Water Fresh, Not Forgotten
How much water you prepare should reflect how your household uses it.

A glass carafe works naturally for chilled water at meals or smaller refills through the day. If your household prefers to keep more filtered water ready in one place, the 9L Glass Benchtop Water Filter provides a larger option.
Whichever format suits your home, prepare an amount you are likely to use. If filtered water has been sitting in the product for several days, discard it, and start again with fresh water.
This becomes particularly useful after time away or whenever the usual pattern at home changes. Rather than keeping water simply because it has already been filtered, start with fresh water when several days have passed.
Keep enough ready for the day, then refill when needed.
What You Pour Into Matters Too
Once filtered water is poured, what you serve it in matters too.
Glasses, reusable bottles, and serving vessels need regular cleaning, particularly around lids, seals, straws, and narrow openings where residue can collect. Rather than continually topping up the same bottle, empty it, clean it properly, and give the next refill a clean place to go.
Glass also works naturally for storing and serving. A glass carafe can stay chilled in the fridge, then move directly to the table when it is time to eat.

If you prefer ice, fruit, or herbs with your water, add them after filtration, directly to your glass or serving vessel. They should not be added to the filtration reservoir. Clean the vessel properly after use, particularly when other ingredients have been added.
A Clean Setup Keeps the Routine Simple
Your water filter needs the same regular care as the vessels you drink from.
Follow the care instructions supplied with your Earths Water product, and clean the appropriate components as directed. Earths Water filters covered by these instructions are not dishwasher safe.
Do not use concentrated cleaning agents such as bleach, heavy oxidants, or chlorinated solvents on any part of the product. Abrasive pads should also be avoided.
With a glass benchtop water filter, remember areas such as the reservoir and tap. For a glass carafe, keep the vessel and appropriate removable components clean according to its instructions.
Regular care can stay simple. Clean the appropriate parts as directed, and your filter is ready for everyday use.
Know When the Cartridge Is Due
A cartridge does not need daily attention. It simply needs to be changed when it is due.

The Earths Water core cartridge used in our 2.5L glass carafe, 3.5L glass carafe, water filter jugs, and benchtop water filters are designed to last up to 350 litres or approximately three months, whichever comes first. Even if you have not reached 350 litres, replace the cartridge after three months to help maintain performance.
You don’t have to rely on memory, either. Earths Water sends replacement reminders based on the filter you purchased, so you know when a change is approaching.
Keeping a replacement cartridge at home can make that change easier. Leave it packaged until you need it, and once opened, install it within two weeks.
Going Away? Set the Filter Up Before You Go
A few days away calls for a little preparation.
During normal use, keep enough water in the product body for the bottom of the cartridge to remain in contact with water. This helps prevent the cartridge from drying out.
If you will be away for a few days, remove the cartridge while it is wet, place it in a sealed bag, and store it in the fridge.

If the cartridge has been dry for two days, soak it in water for ten minutes before reinstalling it. When you return, discard any filtered water that has been sitting in the product for several days, then refill with fresh water.
With those steps taken care of, your filter is ready to use again.
Make Better Water the Everyday Standard

The best changes at home are often the ones that stop feeling like changes at all.
Filtered water can become the same. The carafe has its place in the fridge or on the table. The benchtop filter is there when you want another glass. Looking after it becomes part of looking after the things you use every day.
There is no need to make more of it than that. When filtered water fits naturally into your home, reaching for another glass requires very little thought.
Better water simply becomes the water you drink.
